Khartoum - General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, affirmed the trial and accountability of everyone who committed a crime in Darfur, especially against the displaced, adding that if accountability is not done in Sudanese courts, the International Criminal Court can be used.
In his address at the Republican Palace today, Al-Burhan called on representatives of the camps for the displaced in the states of Darfur in the meeting to raise their issues, and called on the Sudanese people to apologize to the displaced, and stressed the importance of restoring their rights and returning them to their original villages.
His Excellency affirmed the participation of the displaced in the peace negotiations platform in Juba, which he described as the original participation, considering that the displaced are negotiating their issues on their own behalf in order to achieve their rights without which the peace process will not be complete.
Al-Burhan indicated that the peace sought by the state includes the people of Sudan in all its categories and components.
