Juba – Mr. Mohammed Hassan Al-Taayishi, a member of the Sovereign Council, speaking on behalf of the government’s negotiating delegation, stressed that the negotiations between the Sudanese peace parties in Juba are proceeding with a confident and steady steps towards achieving a comprehensive peace.
He said in a press statement after the government delegation’s meeting with the leaders of the Darfur track at the headquarters of negotiations in Juba this afternoon, which discussed the transitional justice document presented by the leaders of the track, that the two parties agreed on the equivalent of 50% of the contents of the document, considering the result a precedent that took place for the first time in the history of the Sudanese negotiations it is considered as an indication of the joint will of the parties, adding, "Although it is a complex paper that involves accountability in crimes and grave violations that occurred in Darfur, the parties were able to reach this consensus within one session," noting that the joint will enable the parties to reach a final agreement on them. Al-Tayishi explained that everyone who committed a crime in Darfur will be brought to justice until we reach peace, social stability, and harmonious society.
