President of the Republic Field Marshal Omar Al-Bashir issued a Republican decree increasing the number of judges of the Supreme Court from 300 to 500 judges; the decree also included increase the number of first-class judges from 450 to 500 judges.
The President of the Republic issued another decree on the recommendation of the Chief Justice promoted 14 judges of the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court and 47 judges of the General Court to the Court of Appeal and 90 judges of first instance judges to the General Court.
The President’s decrees come in line with the strategy of the judiciary in shortening the judicial shadow and simplify litigation procedures.
