South Sudan Parties Sign the Final Revitalized Peace Agreement

The Parties to conflict in the State of South Sudan signed in Addis Ababa this evening, the final revitalized peace agreement on the sidelines of the IGAD extraordinary summit.

The agreement was signed also by the leaders of states and governments of IGAD and some international parties to the agreement as guarantors for this agreement.

The agreement was signed by the government of national unity, SPLM/IO, Opposition Alliance in South Sudan, former detainees and other political parties, stakeholders and representatives of civil society, religious leaders and prominent figures, youth, women and academics.

The South Sudan parties have signed the agreement initialed with a reservation on four items resolved by IGAD leaders in the closed session of the summit today.
