KHARTOUM - The African Union's African Union initiative is the first of all initiatives and aims to bring the views of the Transitional Military Council and the Declaration of Freedom and Change closer together, the chairman of the political committee of the transitional military council said.
He told a news conference on the current political situation that the agreement with the African envoy to merge the African and Ethiopian initiatives in one initiative.
He pointed out that the insistence of the African envoy and the Ethiopian mediator to submit individual initiatives wasted time and the last return to negotiations, noting that the Council expects a response from the African Union in the near future.
He pointed out that the military council postponed many initiatives, especially the initiative of the South, Nigeria and the Arab League to provide an opportunity for the African initiative.
For his part, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee stressed that the Council does not accept dictates and does not favor any political party and accept the agreement, which is to ensure political stability and security in the country.
"We hope that the Council will not have to form a government without political partners to preserve and guarantee political stability," he said.
